Remember those horse-girl weekends you dreamt about when you were younger? Long days spent with horses, swimming in rivers, exploring the countryside and making memories with your girlfriends.

The Rustic Horse Girls Hangout Retreat is bringing a little of that childhood magic back — but grown up.

Set in the beautiful Grafton region of NSW, this three-day, two-night experience is a little escape into country life, created for horse lovers, nature lovers and dreamers.

Hosted by Hannah of The Trendy Pony alongside Rachel Vercoe of @myhorsewillow, the weekend brings together their shared love of horses, country adventures and creating beautiful memories. Joining us will be Rachel's famous palomino Oakley(in all these pictures), the much-loved star of @myhorsewillow, with over a million followers online.

Think slow mornings, Western-inspired afternoons, horses, river swims, country adventures, picnics, beautiful scenery, good food and the company of women who share your love for the simple things.

You'll arrive, set up your own little camp for the weekend and we'll take care of everything else. From delicious meals and time spent with the horses to a Western-inspired photoshoot and a countryside adventure to the river, every part of the weekend is designed to bring back a little of that childhood magic.

We'll gather around the old heritage homestead, share stories, enjoy the outdoors and make the kind of memories that stay with you long after the weekend is over.

Day One

A Western Afternoon & Golden Hour Gathering

A little taste of the Wild West, with horses at the heart of it all.

We'll ease into the afternoon with something cold to drink, a little cocktail making and a chance to get to know the girls you'll be sharing the weekend with.

Then it's time to get a little girly! Think denim, leather, cowboy boots and hats. An hour to play with outfits, get dressed up, enjoy a drink and settle into the afternoon.

As the sun begins to soften, we'll head out amongst the horses for a little Western-inspired fun. Try your hand at roping, meet the horses and explore a few Western traditions, all while we capture those beautiful, candid moments along the way. And of course, there'll be an opportunity for a Western-inspired portrait of your own.

As golden hour rolls in, the afternoon turns into our own little Western gathering. Good music, cold drinks, beautiful country surrounds and dinner shared together as the evening settles in.

Day TWO

Horse Girls' 4WD River Adventure

A day for the horse lovers, nature lovers and dreamers.

We'll ease into the morning with breakfast at the homestead before getting ready for a little country adventure.

Think four-wheel driving through beautiful countryside, horses running alongside us and a dreamy picnic by the river.

We'll spend the afternoon swimming, enjoying good food, getting a little creative and sharing stories with like-minded women. There'll be a special little activity to bring us together, slow us down and perhaps take home a little piece of the weekend.

With beautiful picnic rugs, pillows and the river at our feet, it's all about those carefree horse-girl moments we dreamt about when we were younger.

A little wild, a little romantic and wonderfully nostalgic.

Slow Morning & Country Breakfast
Sleep in, enjoy a coffee and ease into the day with a beautiful country breakfast at the homestead. A slow morning with nowhere to rush.

8:30 - 10:00am

The River Adventure Begins
Time to head off on our 4WD adventure through the countryside, with the horses joining us along the way.
We'll settle in by the river for a beautiful picnic, swimming, a little horse-girl creativity and plenty of time to relax, explore and enjoy the company of new friends.

11:00am

We'll make our way back to camp as the day winds down, with time to shower, freshen up and settle in for a relaxed evening together.

Dinner, good company and a little more country magic to finish the day.
LATE AFTERNOON
Day THREE

One Last Country Morning

One last slow morning at the homestead, sharing coffee, a beautiful country breakfast and a few little surprises before we say our goodbyes.

Take your time packing up camp, saying farewell to the horses and your new friends, and soaking up those final moments in the countryside.

How It Works | FAQ

  • Your hosts are Hannah of The Trendy Pony and Rachel Vercoe of @myhorsewillow.

    Together, we're bringing you a weekend inspired by our shared love of horses, country adventures and the kind of horse-girl memories that never really leave us.

  • We're keeping things beautifully rustic!

    This is a BYO camping retreat. You'll need to bring your own tent, swag or similar camping setup, along with your bedding and personal camping essentials.

    You'll have access to toilets, showers and our beautiful old heritage homestead, complete with a shared kitchen and space to gather, relax and enjoy meals together.

    Don't have camping gear? Reach out! We have a few spare swags and camping bits and pieces available and may be able to help you out. Please arrange this with us before arriving.

  • Your $850 retreat experience includes:

    • Two nights on our beautiful country property (BYO camping accommodation)

    • All meals throughout the retreat

    • Our Western-inspired afternoon, activities and photoshoot

    • The Horse Girls' 4WD & River Adventure

    • A beautiful riverside picnic and creative activity

  • Absolutely! All meals throughout the retreat are included.

    We'll enjoy shared country breakfasts, beautiful picnic-style meals and relaxed dinners together.

    If you have dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know before the retreat so we can discuss what can be accommodated.

  • The Rustic Horse Girls Hangout Retreat is held on a beautiful private property in the Grafton region of Northern NSW. You'll receive the exact location and arrival instructions before the retreat.

  • Friday 11 December – Sunday 13 December 2026.

    Guests can arrive from midday Friday, with the retreat wrapping up around midday Sunday.

  • Not at all!

    This retreat is for anyone who loves horses, whether you've spent your whole life around them or simply dreamt of doing so.

    There is no riding experience required and there will be no riding on this retreat. It's all about enjoying the horses, country life and the company of other horse-loving women.

  • Not for this retreat. We'll have our own horses joining us throughout the weekend, including Rachel's famous palomino Oakley, Willow and Stormboy.

    If you’re looking for a retreat you can bring your horse on – send us a message and find out what we have coming up!

  • Not particularly! This retreat is designed to be relaxed and enjoyable, with plenty of time to slow down and soak up the countryside.

    There will be some walking on uneven ground, spending time outdoors, getting in and out of 4WD vehicles and optional activities like swimming and roping.

    You'll need to be comfortable with a little country adventure, but there's no need to be especially fit or experienced with horses.

    If you have any mobility concerns or physical limitations, please reach out before booking so we can chat about whether the retreat will be suitable for you.

  • Any guest over the age of 18 is welcome on this retreat.

  • We're embracing country life, and that means working with nature!

    We'll do our best to keep the weekend running as planned, but some activities may need to be adjusted depending on the weather, river conditions and the wellbeing of our horses.

  • Please do!

    You absolutely don't need to bring a friend. This weekend is about bringing together women who share a love of horses, nature and country life.

    Come on your own and leave with a few new horse-girl friends.

  • Now all that's left to do is pack your bags and get excited! This is what you’ll need.

    • Your camping setup, bedding, pillow and towel

    • Comfortable country clothes and sleepwear

    • Your favourite Western-inspired outfit for Friday afternoon

    • Cowboy boots or enclosed shoes suitable for being around horses

    • Swimmers and river essentials

    • A warm layer for the evenings

    • Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and toiletries

    • Water bottle and personal medications
