Day TwoGaining Confidence in Hoof Care
Day two is where the learning really begins. Our Qualified Farrier will guide the group through demonstrations explaining hoof anatomy, balance and what to look for when assessing a hoof.
You’ll then begin practicing under supervision, learning how to safely trim and maintain a horse’s hooves while gaining confidence handling tools and understanding what you’re seeing. Whether you're working with your own horse or one of ours, this hands-on learning is the heart of the retreat.
In the afternoon we’ll slow the pace with a relaxed activity with the horses — giving you time to enjoy them outside of the learning environment and connect with the group.
* There will also be an option to make something creative.

Our final morning is guided by the group, allowing time for extra trimming practice, questions, or revisiting techniques you’d like more support with.
If you’d prefer a slower morning, you’re also welcome to simply spend time with your horse — grooming, connecting, or enjoying a quiet moment together before the retreat concludes. We’ll finish by reflecting on what you’ve learned so you head home feeling confident caring for your horse’s hooves.
